Q:
I am looking for solar screen shades that allows you to look out but provides privacy from the street view.A:
Solar shades are made with screen fabric. This screen fabric varies in the tightness of the weave. The tighter the weave the more the screen roller shades block the light and the more privacy they provide. There is no such thing as privacy solar screen shades due to the fact they are made from a screen fabric that has holes. However, that being said, when one side of the screen shades are lighter than the other it makes it difficult to see through the shades, creating privacy. For instance, during the daytime when it is bright outside it is hard to see into a room with the window covered by a solar screen shade. Remember though that at night when it's dark outside and the lights are on inside the opposite occurs. This makes it difficult to see out of the blinds but easy for anyone outside to see inside with the lights on.
Another factor that determines privacy is the tightness of the weave. The tighter the weave, the harder it is to see through the screen shades. This is designated by the "openness" factor. I tight weave window shade will have low openness factor such as a 1% or 3% openness. A sheer weave shade with a loose weave will have a 10% or 14% openness.
