Q:
I have selected blinds for the windows, but also need a blind solution for my sliding glass door. I would like a single rail with two shades in it splitting the distance of the sliding door, is this a possibility?A:
Two on one headrails are a great option for sliding glass doors. This is a chargeable upgrade feature that only a select few products offer. This allows you to have multiple blinds in one window frame, allowing you to be able to control each of them individually. To be able to determine if this is an option, you have to select the product, click on the Design and Order button, and if you scroll down the page, if the option is available you will see a drop down box that says "single headrail (no charge)". If you see that, there is a drop down, that will allow you to select a 2 on 1 headrail.
When entering your size, you will want to be sure to enter the overall width and height. When you drop down the arrow, and select the 2 on 1 headrail more options will appear and you will have to break the 2 blinds into their exact sizes.
Please keep in mind that any blinds 94" or over will incur a $70.00 oversized shipping fee.
Sometimes people do not want to spend the extra money to do the 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 headrail, or they are selecting a product that it is not offered. For these scenarios (faux wood or wooden blinds only) you can order the individual blinds and then request one valance that will cover up the 2 or 3 blind headrails. This valance is called a common valance. Please note that you have to call customer service at 888-633-7840 to request this and some manufacturer charge a minimal fee to do this.
Due to the widths of these valances, sometimes our manufacturers have to splice them. They will either make a straight vertical cut or a diagonal cut. You would then butt them up next to each other when you install them. By splicing the valance, the manufacturers are preventing damage during shipping and oversized shipping fees.
