Q:
Is a 84" X 62" too large to make as one bamboo shade or should I break it up into multiple shades? I have two very wide bedroom windows. I have the option of ordering 2-27" wide blinds and one 44" blind for each window, or one, very wide, 84" blind for each window. The 84" will be better for ease of use because I'll only have one cord for each set of windows. But I'm concerned that 84" is very wide and there will be too much weight and wear and tear for one cord to bear. A:
For starters, the manufacturers would not make a shade in that size if they have had issues with them. Manufacturers do provide a warranty. They would not continue to keep making products that required spending money on additional materials, time and labor, making products that are just going to keep coming back in for repairs. However, I would recommend that you choose the continuous cord loop upgrade.
Why?
-> The continuous cord loop makes raising and lowering much smoother and easier, especially on larger blinds. All you do is put on hand on top of the other in a pulling motion to raise or lower the shade. Pulling the cord one direction raises the shades and pulling it the opposite direction lowers the window shades.
-> It also gives you an even raise every time.
-> Shades stop in the position you want.
-> The loop is the same size raised or lowered. You do not have to worry about excess cords on the floor when your shade is raised up.
-> You can even attach the cord to the wall with the cord cleat that is included. This keeps the cord stationary.
-> Since the cord is stationary and not dangling, it provides more efficient child and pet safety.
Another option is to do the a 3 on 1 headrail. This is a chargeable upgrade feature that only a select few products offer. This allows you to have multiple blinds in one window frame, allowing you to be able to control each of them individually.
Let's first discuss the 3 on 1 headrail option. This is a chargeable upgrade feature. This allows you to have multiple blinds in one window frame, allowing you to be able to control each of them individually.
You have to select the product, click on the Design and Order button, and if you scroll down the page, if the option is available you will see a drop down box that says "single headrail (no charge)". If you see that, there is a drop down, that will allow you to select a 2 on 1 headrail and then 3 on 1 headrail.
When entering your size, you will want to be sure to enter the overall width and height. When you drop down the arrow, and select the 2 on 1 headrail or the 3 on 1 headrail more options will appear and you will have to break the 2 or 3 blinds into their exact sizes.
Please keep in mind that any blinds 94" or over will incur a $70.00 oversized shipping fee.
