Q:
I have NO idea if motorized sheer/fabric window coverings exist but, we are located in Raleigh, NC and are rebuilding our home due to a fire. We are going for ultra-modern and contemporary as our kitchen is as well.We have an opportunity to do all of our window coverings with motors/remotes prior to drywall going up in our home if such a thing exists?
A:
We have several window treatments that we can motorize. We have solar screens (very modern), roman shades, cell shades and some wood blinds. All of our standard window coverings which we offer online with the motorization upgrade are battery motors. Battery operated window shades are easier to install than non-battery, in wall or hard wired window shades. If you are looking for a hardwired window treatment please contact us for pricing and availability.Hard wired window shades offer heavier duty DC motors that do not require changing or re-charging batteries. The disadvantage to hardwired window shades is that electrical must be run to the shades by a licensed electrician. This can be costly especially on existing homes or remodels. For new home construction, wires can easily be done before the dry wall is placed on the walls. This is the reason we offer battery motors with our standard motorized shades. Most of the motorized blinds we offer can be upgraded to a hard wired motor. Please call our customer service for details.
