Nicknamed the Keystone State, Pennsylvania is steep in a rich history that predates the Revolutionary War era. Pennsylvania is the fifth largest state in the United States in terms of population. Because of it large population and diverse demographics, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has emerged as a pivotal state in presidential elections. From the hall where the Founding Fathers met to craft the United States Constitution to the rolling bluffs overlooking Lake Erie, Pennsylvania offers a little of something for both residents and visitors. As one of the original 13 states, Pennsylvania includes the Appalachian Mountains and the world renowned Appalachian Trail that attracts thousands of hikers each year.
How Does the Pennsylvania Climate Affect Window Treatment Choices?
Diverse in population, Pennsylvania is also diverse in the weather experienced by residents of the Keystone State. Lake effect snows and strong winds in winter make the northern section of the state an ideal area for homeowners to install insulated cellular shades. With pleated materials that allow the shades to fold into an accordion-like position, insulated cellular shades help Pennsylvania keep heating expenses at a reasonable level. After the thaw in spring, most of Pennsylvania transforms into a sub-tropical humid climate that make quilted window blinds an optimal choice for homeowners. Quilted window blinds typically have side tracks to allow for the opening of windows.

We love our Translucent 1/2" DOUBLE CELL shades....we were disappointed that they did not have a valance to cover the metal brackets when the shades were in the bottom up position.....But I was able to get wood valances to cover it....they had to be painted and fitted and hung, but they look perfect now...Thanks so much
